And Then Comes Baby

We welcomed baby Alexis Michelle Olsen to the family on April 10, 2009 at 7:35 P.M. After being induced Friday morning at midnight my sister was a trooper as she was in labor for about 13 and a half hours. Alexis is 8 pounds 1 ounce and 20 and a half inches long. She is quiet but when she cries she has a high pitched scream that is so cute. She is already making cute faces and we love love love this little girl and we are excited she is a new member of our family. Her due date was on April 4th so she was 6 days late. But we are all happy she finally made it. today is Heather and David's anniversary so she was a nice gift. She got to go home today and her parents are as excited as can be. That is until she wakes them up in the middle of the night.

WOW!!!!

Yeah I haven't updated in a long time. My family keeps teasing me because the name of my blog is my life day to day and i haven't updated in 3 months. yeah well my life has been fairly uneventful. Nothing really exciting has happened. My sister is pregnant and she is due April 4, my cousin got married, and 3 of my other cousins are expecting. So nothing really happening directly to me. So Christmas was good. Alot of food and presents. New Years was New Years. 10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! Yep, that's how it went. I claim that me not updating is because nothing exciting has happened. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. So if you were wondering if I dropped off the face of the earth, I'm still here. So I will be 16 in 2 months and I'm kinda excited but not really. I still haven't gotten my permit so that means I have to get my license like 3 months after i turn 16. But that's ok. frankly, the thought of driving on the road scares me. Yikes!!! Anyways....My braces have been off for about 3 months now and I love it. First it felt weird. Not slimy just to smooth and it felt like there was to much room in my mouth. But I got used to it and now i love my teeth! So I really have nothing else to say. I will try and update more so I can keep the title of my blog.

Twilight!

Tonight I am going to see the midnight premiere of Twilight. I love this book it is so well written and I can't wait to see if the movie is as good. I am getting a little tired of obsessed girls though. It's rather annoying when all they talk about is Twilight. I mean it's fun to talk about but it's not something I always want to talk about. Well i am just excited to be able to go. The deal for me to go is that I have to still go to seminary and school tomorrow, do all my chores and homework without complaining, and I have to be nice to my family. The only bad part about this is that I still have to go to school and seminary because tomorrow night I have to go and help set up our youth conference this weekend and after that I have to attend tomorrow night then get up early Saturday and go again where after lunch I have to sing in a choir. I'm going to be so tired but I'm not complaining because it's so worth it. I really want to go so that's the price I pay.

Jingle Bells


Holiday season is finally here and I am thrilled!!!! This is my favorite time of year and its not because of the food though that is definitely a plus; it's because it's once a year where everyone forgets to be selfish. During this holiday season we always look for ways to help each other out and to take care of one another. It's a beautiful thing to see happening around you. We all do things with our family and spend time together while we enjoy the things we have in this world. The spirit of the holidays is what I love most. It's a feeling you get when you walk outside and you can see your breath and know that the holidays are close and you breathe a sigh of relief because for about 2 months people stop fighting and causing stress. You can finally relax after a long year. It's knowing that for this short time every year people seem to forget about themselves and look for ways to help everyone else. It's giving up things that you have to people who are without. It's realizing how blessed you are to have so many things. During this season we try and be the best we can because we know what's all about. Thanksgiving: the pilgrims and the native Americans gathered together to give thanks for all they had. They put aside their differences and ate together to show their gratitude for the things which they had because it could have been much less. Christmas: right in the name is the meaning; Christ. Christ the Lord was born this day. We celebrate the coming of our savior and we show our gratitude and love towards him by showing our love to others. Love is essential in people and it's what brings us together. No matter how far or different we may seem from each other, we are all united in ways we probably don't even realize. We are children of God, love unites us all, we are all people. I love love love this season because it brings people closer together and prepares us for another year of trials and hardships that are sure to come.

We Won!!!!!!!!!!

So tonight we played against our rivals the Cactus Cobras, and we won!!! We beat them 27-16. It was fantastic. So we filled up our side in the stands so that we were packed all tight in there and we were a mass of yellow and green.(mostly yellow because it was a yellow out and the other school Had a black out) It was a close game right up until the last quarter really just about the last 2 minutes. Right at the end with like 25 seconds left, they threw the game. In other words, they gave up. It was cool even though we were going to win anyways. Our side had music makers, blow horns, the band and screaming fans so it was never quiet. It was a very intense game between out schools. I screamed so much that my voice is pretty much gone right now. If I talk, I sounds like a man. It was a very entertaining game. So far this season we are undefeated and we hope to stay that way. Our school has so much spirit. After the game we were screaming in the parking lot. I stuck my head out the window and started screaming Peoria panthers and then everyone started screaming. It was so cool. I was dressed in yellow and covered in green and gold glitter. I had some pretty awesome makeup on and i looked very spirited. Before we went to the game we went to subway which was conveniently filled with Peoria kids and when i walked out they all said go panthers because i was all decked out in my green and gold it was funny. Then after, we went to QT and there were Cactus cheerleaders in there(I have to admit they have a really good cheer line) it was funny.

School...Ughhh.

So school is going great if you like boring classes filled with "interesting" people. If you know what I mean. Well, I am really tired from getting up so early everyday and then not going to sleep very early and that makes it very hard to stay awake at school. I am very frustrated with school because I really don't like it and there so many "interesting" people there to get annoyed with. But since I have given you all the advice to find the good in any situation, I don't want to be a hypocrite so I will tell you what good things I found in going to school. I like my teachers and the overall class (not the students so much) but the curriculum of my classes. I enjoy learning when I finally understand it. I enjoy making new friends and learning how to be more outgoing and kind to others. I like helping others to succeed and to help them see their full potential. I am glad that I have the opportunity to go to school while there are thousands of kids who would love to go to school but can't. I am thankful that I don't have to wear uniforms(although that might be better than seeing some of the "clothes" I see there) I am glad that I can be educated so that I might be able to get a job to support myself and someday my family. I am thankful that I live in this country so that I can know how blessed I am when I see the kids in other parts of the world who are starving and homeless. How they are craving an education and learn anything they can. I am wondering how much I can learn this year so that I can go to cosmetology school next year. I am trying a new class called Building Trades. I will learn carpentry, masonry, plumbing and a lot more in that class that I can use later on in life. I am thankful for school even though it can sometimes be overwhelming and even a pain in the neck. I am grateful for my opportunities.

Friday's Adventures

So today was probably the longest day of school ever. It took forever for it to end it was crazy. But it did fnally end and that was exciting because it is a three day weekend. Yes!!! I have had three weeks of school this year and I am already done. But that wasn't the worst part of the day. It was when my mom sent me and Shelbi on an errand to go to a Target to pick up something from my mom's friend Lisa Geiser. Well we got lost because we listened to the GPS, weird huh? Well we did finally get there after an agrument on the phone between my sister and my mom while I was getting directions on a different phone. It was and interesting afternoon but when we got there we was a couple whose car had boken down we think from a dead battery so we gave them a jump. Well if we had not gotten lost or had just gone home we wouldn't have been able to help them so I guess that we are really put in these positions and places for a reason and we need to decide whether we are going to do the right thing or not. There is always an opportunity to do good we just need to look for them. After all the frustration and anger because we really had known how to get there but had wrong directions, we discovered why we had to go though all of it to be put in a situation where we were given the opportunity of giving service to others who were having a worse day than we were. They had been there for a while and people had just kept driving by and not even noticing that they needed help because they either didn't care or they didn't "have time". When these choices are laid out in front of you, you choose which one you take and pray it was the right one. But which one do you know is right and which one are you trying to justify? This is what you really should be asking yourself when you happen into situations like this. Just remember we are not here to justify the wrongs, we are here to make right what's wrong.
